Linen sizes can be a confusing topic for many! Especially when it seems like each venue has a different table size and you aren’t sure where to begin. When it comes to linens, we can promise that you will receive the proper size for whatever table. Our company has over 15 different linen sizes to use on the 5 most commonly used table options. With that many sizes available, we guarantee that we can find something to work with your budget, style, and table size. Below we will go over just a few linen options. With that, you’ll be able to know exactly what you need when your venue says they have 60″ round tables.
Cocktail Table Linens
There are just a few options when it comes to cocktail table linens. Each size truly depends on what style you are looking for during your event.
90″ x 90″ – This size linen is a square topper that will just hit the floor on the four corners. If your event is more casual, then this is a perfect solution for your cocktail hour!
120″ round – A 120″ round will hit just on the floor on a cocktail table and is left hanging rather than being cinched. Because it is not cinched, this size is perfect for indoor events or heavier fabrics that won’t blow away from the wind at outdoor events. With a 120″ round, you will not see the metal legs like you do with a 90 x 90 topper. This gives your event an extra touch of elegance.
132″ round – Another stunning option for a cocktail table is to use a 132″ round and a sash to cinch below the table top. Using a 132″ allows you to cinch the linen without seeing the table legs. You can get creative with your tables by using an additional topper as seen in this photo!
Round Table Linens
The two most commonly used round tables are 60″ and 72″, which are all measured by the diameter. Both tables sit at 30″ tall, which is important to think about when deciding how far you want the linen to drop.
If you are using a 60″ round, you can see that a 90″ round linen would give you a lap length look. Wanting the linen to hit the floor would require a 120″ round linen.
Let’s break down the math. It’s quite simple!
(120″ – 60″ [table top]) / 2 [to account for each table side] = 30″
As you can see, a 120″ round linen drops 30″ (the exact table height) on a 60″ round table.
If you are working with a 72″ table, then the method is the same. However, you’ll want to use differently sized linens to get the look you desire.
A 108″ linen will be lap length on a 72″ table. Many people see lap length as more casual for events, such as backyard weddings, barbecues, or graduation parties.
If you like the look of a full-length linen, then a 132″ linen is what you’re looking for on a 72″ table.
There are also many options for toppers that can be used with or without a base linen!

Banquet Table Linens
The two most common banquet tables are the 6-foot and 8-foot tables. Additionally, there is a wide 8-foot table, which is 12 inches wider than a traditional 8-foot table.
6-foot tables require a 72 x 120″ linen for a lap length look. Another option is 90 x 132″ linen, which will go to the floor on a six-foot table.
8-foot tables use the same 72 x 120″ linen for a lap length option. However, the floor length linen is a 90 x 156″ linen.
Wide 8-foot tables are the largest tables to rent from The Rental Company. This table requires a King’s Drape, in other words, a 108″ x 156″ linen.
When it comes to finding a linen that will work for an unusual table size, the math is pretty easy! Find out how tall, wide, and long the table is. Then decide if you want lap length or floor length linens. After that, you will know what size you need by adding together the height twice and the width once (to get the short side) and then the height twice and the length once (to get the long side).
