If you have not yet made your way to the Outdoor Discovery Center, then we suggest you hurry over the next time you are looking for something fun to do! The nature preserve is a safe and active way to get the whole family together. With nature trails and outdoor exhibits, you are sure to keep the family engaged no matter how young or old. The nature preserve even includes trails that meet ADA accessibility guidelines so no one is left out of enjoying this wonderful center!
Community Programs
The Outdoor Discovery Center offers many opportunities for involvement. Programs such as hiking and paddling through the river are just two of the fun ways to stay active! Whether you are a member of Scouts, a church or sports group, or a local club, there are plenty of ways to get engaged with nature! ODC encourages groups to schedule a time to become more educated on nature, wildlife, and conservation with a variety of programming activities.
The ODC also offers many different summer camps that your children can participate in all summer long. Sessions are filling up quickly so sign up today!
Conservation
The Outdoor Discovery Center is also working hard to conserve our land and water! The ODC is engaging in the restoration and preservation of natural resources. Projects, such as the Macatawa Watershed Project and Project Clarity are in place to restore Lake Macatawa’s water quality. Check out the links above to see how you can support the Outdoor Discovery Center and Lake Macatawa!
Little Hawks Discovery Preschool
In addition to the many programs Outdoor Discover Center offers, they also provide a preschool for ages 3 – 4. This nature-based learning opportunity is unlike any other preschool. Little Hawks Discovery Preschool is providing the opportunity for young children to learn while spending time outdoors connecting with nature. If you are interested in getting more involved, then check out the many opportunities to volunteer! ODC is always looking for volunteers to help with their events, programs, and conservation efforts.
And as always, you can donate to ODC through your next event through the Compassion Connection program.
