Now that we have looked back at the Standout Weddings of 2016, we are looking ahead to 2017. We furiously fill our planners and develop lists of the things that we want to do better, improve, and change in our personal lives. At so many intervals the things we wanted to do in our personal lives matched the goals and focus for The Rental Company in 2017 as well.
Two items that we want to focus on?
- Meaningful Relationships (that means you!)
- Thoughtful and planned community outreach and charitable giving.
Yes, we want to continue giving you excellent service and maintaining a stunning inventory collection. These priorities will always be at the top of our list. As we think about ways to grow and improve we want to make sure that the focus remains outward. We want to make sure you know how much we care about you and the community that surrounds us. So how are we going to do it?
Meaningful Relationships
First things first, you matter to us! We are giddy when we get to tell people about the amazing clients and vendor partners that we get to work with. From weddings and business holiday parties to birthdays and graduation parties, we LOVE to know what is happening in your life and the life of your business. We want to make sure you know how much we value you and your time.
To show our appreciation, we have a few surprises in store, especially for our wedding couples. We will continue to strive to personalize your experience here at The Rental Company so you know that we actually do want to hear all about your event! Your time matters so we will continue to develop processes to make sure your time with us is equally inspiring and efficient. And, if you haven’t stopped by our showroom lately, be sure to come in and say hi. We’ll have a cup of coffee (or tea) ready for you. Or do you have some feedback on what we can improve or what we are doing well? Let us know! We want to make sure our changes are suiting your needs. Please email heather@wmrentalco.com.
Community Outreach & Charitable Giving
Year Four. We are already in our fourth year of the Compassion Connection program! Thank you so much for your continued support of this charitable outreach program. We are SO EXCITED to announce some ways that we are enhancing the program for our five recipients this year. If you haven’t heard about Compassion Connection yet… This program allows us to direct our giving to 3-5 organizations chosen annually by The Rental Company staff. These local 501c3 non-profits are benefitted in three ways:
- In-kind Donations and discounts of rental inventory for their fundraisers, events, open houses, etc.
- Cash Donations – our clients can donate up to 10% of their order with a $250 cap to one of the recipients and we’ll take that amount off of their order with us.
- Volunteerism and Awareness – our staff is encouraged to volunteer with these organizations and we promote them through our social media channels, space in our showroom, blog articles, etc.

Do More, Give More
When we sat down to look at 2017, we knew that we wanted to make sure that the Compassion Connection was an integral part of The Rental Company. We’ve committed to some major improvements to the program that we think you are going to be very excited about:
- More than just in-kind donations, we are looking for ways to help the non-profits in other unique ways. One example of this is by helping Nestlings with their diaper pick up. They need diapers picked up and typically have to wrangle a fleet of volunteer vehicles to grab them all. But we have a truck! And crew members who can go and grab them all in one load. Compassion Connection Win!
- Did you notice that we have increased the cap amount from $200 to $250? While we always encourage our clients to donate above and beyond the 10% or $250 mark, if they are able, we think that this increase will help us to raise even more funds for our deserving recipients. We may also have some opportunities for you to bring in items to help support our partner non-profits such as a diaper drive or a collection of items for Hope Pkgs (first night bags for foster care children).
- Volunteerism is one area we really wanted to improve on this year. We are scheduling one volunteer day a month for our staff to decorate Kids’ Food Basket brown paper bags, help clean the stables at Renew Therapeutic Riding Center, and more. When we have events that are open to the public, we’ll make sure you know about them in case you want to join us!
Want to learn more about the Outdoor Discovery Center, Nestlings, Kids’ Food Basket, Renew Therapeutic, and Hope Pkgs? Make sure to stop by our Compassion Connection Page and stay tuned on our blog! Every other month we will feature one of our non-profits in a blog article and we will keep you updated on their events through social media.
We Want to Hear From You
